Role Snapshot
The Appraisal Analyst supports the Division of Property Assessments by assisting Tennessee’s property assessors and ensuring effective administration of the state’s property tax system. This role contributes to reappraisal programs, provides technological and appraisal support, reviews property assessment data, and helps maintain compliance with state law. Analysts work closely with management, local governments, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality service and uphold statewide standards.

What You'll Do
• Review assessment records to ensure accurate mapping, sales verification, and data quality
• Train and support local officials in the appraisal of real and personal property for tax assessment
• Assist assessors of property in reappraisal programs, ratio studies, and current value updates
• Conduct annual audits to confirm compliance with state law
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with local officials and stakeholders
• Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, credible relationships with local government officials and coworkers
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with diverse personalities and organizational levels
- Ability to perform effectively in a modern office environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Two (2) years of relevant experience
Logistics
Travel: In‑state travel may be required
